The photographs

I need a good quality photograph to do a good portrait. I usually take my own photographs of commission subjects with a Cannon Digital Camera and a 120-250mm lens. Customers have the option of keeping the portfolio on completion of the painting.

Sending your own photo's

Have a go at taking some photo's yourself but please take the subject out of doors on a bright day or in the shade if it is very sunny. Get in close and fill the subject in the camera lens.

Please phone me if you want some advice before taking your own photos.
It may not be possible for me to work with a poor quality photo and I do not want to disappoint you.

Size

Each finished unframed portrait is about 18 by 20 inches done on a very heavy duty, acid free paper with lightfast watercolour paints.

Gina Howard I am a self taught artist and married to a very supportive husband without which my present success would not have been possible. I gave up nursing to have a family and it was while expecting my second child, seventeen years ago, that I began painting. What started, as a hobby soon became a very successful and satisfying occupation. By word of mouth and a few exhibitions presented in my local area my portraits were soon in demand. I now have a well-lit purpose built studio in which I do all my dog, cat, horse, child and adult portraits and framing.

I have hundreds of satisfied customers many whom return for a second or third portrait of their children or pets.

Customer Approval

I will scan the portrait, reduce in size and email the image in JPEG format for the customer’s approval or I can send a small print of the image in the post.
